Quiet Feed for YouTube
Privacy policy. Last updated 8 November 2026.
Quiet Feed is a browser extension that hides chosen channels, words and AI-made videos on YouTube, and starts videos at a lower quality until you choose otherwise. This page explains what it does with your information. In short: nothing leaves your browser for us, because we never receive anything.
What the extension stores
Your settings only: whether it is turned on, the starting video quality, and your lists of blocked channels and words. They are kept in your browser's own extension storage. If you have Chrome sync turned on, Chrome copies them between your own devices through your Google account, as it does for any extension setting.
The extension also saves your chosen starting quality in YouTube's own player setting in your browser, so the player respects it.
What it does not do
- It does not collect, send or sell any personal information, browsing history or viewing history.
- It has no analytics, tracking, adverts or accounts.
- It does not send anything to us or to anyone else. We have no server for it.
Requests it makes
To check whether a Short carries YouTube's own "made with AI" label, the extension loads that video's page from youtube.com, in the same way your browser already does when you watch it. Nothing goes anywhere other than youtube.com.
Permissions
- Storage: to keep your settings.
- Access to youtube.com: to hide cards, set the starting quality and show the "Block this channel" button. It runs on no other site.
Removing your data
Removing the extension deletes its settings from your browser.
